ABOUT :

In Chain Reaction Life Size, teams collaborate to construct an intricate apparatus. Each group designs a mechanism that accomplishes a straightforward task and connects it to the subsequent team’s device, generating a domino effect where triggering one device activates the next. Teams must test and refine their creations to guarantee proper functionality.

They then work in conjunction with the following team to ensure seamless integration between their machines. Ultimately, the goal is for all devices to operate in harmony, resulting in a complete cascading sequence of events. Once finalized, the first team initiates their Chain Reaction, setting off a chain of events that activates each subsequent team’s creation, culminating in a spectacular Chain Reaction that spans the entire room. Similar to a Rube Goldberg machine, which is intentionally designed to achieve a simple task in a convoluted manner, the final outcome showcases a beautifully simple yet astonishingly impressive action.

HIGHLIGHTS :

Chain Reaction simulates a real-world project where teams face constraints in time and resources. This challenge tests team dynamics and human resource management during the planning phase, as the design is broken down into smaller segments that require dividing both human and physical resources into manageable working groups.

Teams must leverage problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills to collaborate effectively during the design phase, ensuring a practical scope is established. The building and testing phases demand coordination not only among teams but also across various technical skills and project management techniques. Chain Reaction fosters innovative thinking, drives a pursuit of excellence, and engages all participants.

OBJECTIVES :

To engage audiences of all ages in a fun and interactive way, encouraging curiosity and exploration. To promote collaborative efforts in building and executing the chain reaction, encouraging teamwork and communication among participants.
